Srinagar, Apr 08 (KNO): The Traffic Police on Wednesday announced a temporary traffic diversion on Ali-Jan Road Srinagar’s Soura to facilitate ongoing sewerage system work, officials said here. SSP Traffic Ajaz Ahmad Bhat told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that one lane from Ali-Jan Road to Aali Masjid will remain closed until the completion of the project, expected to take at least five days. “The UED department is currently digging the road from Ali-Jan road to Aali Masjid to lay a new sewerage pipe. During this period, two-way traffic will not be possible on that section,” SSP Bhat said. He also advised commuters that starting tomorrow, vehicles traveling from Karan Nagar to Ali-Jan road will be diverted via Soura. “They will have to take a right from Aali Masjid towards Hawal,” he added, stressing that there will be no restrictions for traffic coming from Soura. “Vehicles moving from Ali-Jan road will also need to take a right turn towards Hawal.” SSP Bhat appealed to motorists to follow the diversion routes and exercise caution while traveling through the area to ensure smooth traffic movement and safety—(KNO)
